The Sterling was another failure in the history of typewriters even though there were two different models offered. They were produced by the Sterling Typewriter Company which was incorporated in Newark, New Jersey in 1911. The Sterling Sales Company of 299 Broadway, New York marketed them. The Sterling was the successor to The Defi Typewriter.
