This Sholes typewriter was developed by Christopher Latham Sholes but it was his sons that eventually brought it to market after C.L. Sholes died. They produced and sold the typewriter through the C. Latham Sholes Typewriter Company. When the company failed it was sold to August Meiselbach who started the A.G. Meiselbach Typewriter Company of Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Bonita Ball Bearing typewriter was a name variant of the Sholes Visible.
