The North's typewriter had a very peculiar rear-downstrike typebar arrangement. There were very few typewriters built that way and, ultimately, it was a flawed system. The North's was produced by The North's Typewriter Manufacturing Company Limited of London, ca.1892. It's an imposing, beautiful typewriter. The other 3 brands with a similar rear-downstrike typebar arrangement were the Brooks, Fitch and Waverely.
