The Lasar was produced in the early 1890's by the Lasar Typewriter Company of St. Louis, MO. Its inventor was Godfrey Henry Lasar. Advertisements for the typewriter suggest that it was sold primarily by the St. Louis Typewriter Exchange which purchased any remaining stock from the Lasar company after it failed to adequately market the machine.
