Wanted: Ford Typewriter
It's an industrial work of art. The copper-flashed cover is striking on its own, but with the cut-outs, the curves and even the name, the Ford is nothing short of a masterpiece. It was produced by the Ford Typewriter Company of New York, ca.1895, and no, the Ford typewriter shares no affiliation with the automaker. Fords were rebranded for French markets as the Hurtu and for German markets as the Knoch. Some examples were produced with an aluminum frame.
(Machine à écrire Hurtu, Koch schreibmaschine)
