The 1st model of the Crown typewriter is the example with the straight front frame and the 2nd model is the one with the curved front. Both were the invention of by Byron Brooks. Crown typewriters were produced by the National Meter Company of of 252 Broadway New York. They were originally patented on March 6, 1888. Byron also invented the Brooks, which he obviously name after himself.
