The frame of this Blick No.8 was cast of aluminum which was executed only by special order if the buyer was willing to pay for the premium. Standard No.8's frames were cast of iron. Aluminum shaved a few pounds off the overall weight because it is a lighter material. The Blickensderfer company was among the first to use aluminum on typewriter frames. Other than for being cast of aluminum, this No.8 is exactly the same as the No.8 cast of iron here...
