Wanted: Alexander Typewriter
The Alexander typewriter bears the namesake of its inventor, Jesse Alexander. It dates to ca.1914. Jesse began producing these typewriters during March of that year out of a Brooklyn, NY factory located at 35 Ormond Place. The name of his business was aptly named The Alexander Typewriter Company. The Perfect Typewriter was a name variant of the machine. A typewriter produced several years later by a different company but out of the same factory, the Gourland, appears to have been based on the Alexander.
